As part of our whole school approach to Teaching and Learning, we have adopted the GANAG instructional model as our agreed approach to delivering the curriculum. An essential part of this approach incorporates the nine high yield strategies that were developed by the McRel research facility.
One of these strategies is Practise and Homework. Homework is not an added extra, or something that is an onerous task. Homework is based on work either uncompleted in class, revision of number facts, reading independently for 30 minutes a night or time for personal writing.
Diaries are introduced at year 3 / 4 at our school. The diary is an effective form of communication between the school and home and as such please refer to your child’s diary to see if any work needs to be completed. If you have any concerns about homework or other situations, please drop a note to your classroom teacher in the diary.
